Moving Beyond Fear and Excuses (2025 and beyond)

  • To the self-doubter, the one who questions even after the answer arrives…
  • To the one who never feels “ready enough”…
  • To the perpetual waiter, always “waiting for” but never receiving…
  • To the over-preparer who hesitates to execute…

This blog is dedicated to you, a believer with untapped potential. Your existence is attached to a divine assignment. While you may not feel prepared for it, you must gather every ounce of courage and pursue it anyway. Soon, you’ll realize that your first move will activate Heavenly and earthly resources necessary for the journey. Before you know it, contentment will be your new normal, not because everything is perfect, but because you’re in alignment with God’s original intent for your existence.

I’ve been holding onto this message since I received it in early December. While I had the opportunity to share it with a small group shortly after, I believe this version captures it best. I strongly believe this message is going to propel both you and I into places in 2025 and beyond that couldn’t have been imagined.

In the second week of December 2024, as I reflected on the shifts, both spiritual and physical—that had taken place in my life over the past few years, I found myself simultaneously praying and preparing for 2025. In that moment, the Holy Spirit dropped a short but powerful phrase into my spirit:

Not Ready, Not Set, Go Anyway!

Instantly, I knew what He was saying: “You may think you’re not ready. You may feel like you don’t have all the resources. But you have just enough to start—GO ANYWAY.” I smiled, acknowledging His voice, and continued our conversation. As I pressed in for scriptural confirmation, He led me back to the book of Esther, a story I had been drawn to just a week and a half prior. I’ve read Esther many times before, but this time, the message struck me in a way it never had.

Through intentional time in prayer and reflection, I uncovered three key takeaways: one question, one decision, and one charge. I believe these principles will shape our journey through 2025 and beyond, guiding our decisions and endeavors as we step into this new era.

THE QUESTION: Who or What Is Eagerly Waiting for You?

There was an urgent decree issued by Haman to exterminate the Jews in Esther 3 (verses 8-15), and immediate action was needed to overturn the evil mandate. Likewise, there is an urgency in God’s Kingdom agenda today—one that requires immediate action from those whose time has come. If you’re reading this, you are most likely among them.

The world we live in is in desperate need of solutions, and believe it or not, you have one (or more) of them.

  • That idea that seems small yet refuses to leave you…
  • That next-level version of yourself you see in your imagination but feel is difficult to become…
  • That gift, passion, or skill you could do for hours and lose track of time…
  • That story within you, the one birthed from pain, loss, or struggle, where a warrior, a survivor, and a bolder, more confident version of you emerged…

Look around, not just at your immediate environment but at the world at large. The urgency is real, and it demands action. Maybe you’ve already started but, for some reason, abandoned the task. Maybe you’ve been putting in effort but know deep down that more is required.

Whatever the case, ask yourself this question:

I ask again: Who or what has been eagerly waiting for you to rise up and deliver the solution? What are you carrying that will help ease the groanings of creation in this broken world?

“For [even the whole] creation [all nature] waits eagerly for the children of God to be revealed.”—— Romans 8:19 (AMP)

THE DECISION: Choose Your Death!

I know this isn’t an appealing topic, no one in their right mind wants to choose their death, right? I wrestled with sharing this particular point because the Bible tells us to choose life. But I’m going to share it exactly as I heard it—with a strong sense of conviction. I can assure you, however that this death leads to life.

In the story of Esther, Mordecai urged her to go before the king and plead for her people. Fear gripped her, and she responded with excuses:

“All the king’s servants and the people of the king’s provinces know that for any man or woman who approaches the king in the inner court without being summoned, there is only one law: that he must be put to death, unless the king extends the golden scepter to him. And I have not been called to come to the king these thirty days.” — Esther 4:11 (AMP)

But here’s the reality: whether she obeyed or not, she still faced the risk of death. The decree of extermination applied to all Jews, including her and Mordecai reminded her of it.

Then Mordecai told them to reply to Esther, “Do not imagine that you in the king’s palace can escape any more than all the Jews. For if you remain silent at this time, liberation and rescue will arise for the Jews from another place, and you and your father’s house will perish [since you did not help when you had the chance].” — Esther 4:13-14 (AMP)

As I finished reading those verses, a piercing question dropped into my spirit. It felt as if I were taking a multiple-choice test—one where this particular question would determine my fate.

Which Death do you want to die?
  1. Stay where you are and die in disobedience, fear, and excuses.
  2.  Present your body as a living sacrifice and die to the flesh. (Paul said in 1 Corinthians 15:31, “I die daily.”).

I die daily [I face death and die to self —— 1 Corinthians 15:31 AMP

Of all the points in this message, this one resonated with me the mostIn this state of urgency, the only choices before us are death or death. Choose wisely.

THE CHARGE: Go Anyway!

“Go, gather all the Jews that are present in Susa, and observe a fast for me; do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my maids also will fast in the same way. Then I will go in to [see] the king [without being summoned], which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish.” – Esther 4:16 (AMP)

When Esther chose to act, she conquered fear and dismissed excuses. In that moment, I believe God Himself extended His scepter of approval toward her—even before King Ahasuerus did. Proverbs 21:1 reminds us, “The heart of the king is in the hands of the Lord; He turns it wherever He chooses.”

Favor is first with God then man. (See Proverbs 3:4)

Lastly, understand that Esther’s decision to GO ANYWAY despite the risks was not a reckless or impulsive move. She sought God first and drew strength through prayer and fasting. Her GO was rooted in the principle of putting God at the center of every decision.

“In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.” – Proverbs 3:6

“But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also.” – Matthew 6:33 (AMP)

Points of Reflection:
  1. In 2025, move with intentionality, being mindful of who or what is waiting for you. Recognize that there is an urgent need for what you are carrying.
  2. Be wise in choosing your death, and choose quickly:
    • Stay where you are and die in disobedience, fear, or excuses.
    • Present your body as a living sacrifice and die to the flesh, embracing God’s will.
  3. Even if you feel “NOT READY“, make the decision to diligently seek God just like Esther did—then GO ANYWAY (this year).

Take Action: Read the full book of Esther and see what else God will reveal to you.
